It’s a new year! In fact, a new decade to look forward to! I am overly excited, are you?
Before I get carried away about my thoughts on what the next decennary will bring to my life, I want to focus on day after another, weeks, months, and year after year meaningful goals. I have started a blog countless times before but put it aside along the way. Yet, the desire to share the thoughts of my heart keeps coming back! So yes, here I am again, I am going to try once more. This time, I am trying harder. 🙂
Twenty-twenty. Two twos and two zeros.
I am not in any way an expert on numbers but I do want to share what I’ve found out about it. Two is a symbol of duality and zero is for eternity and divine energies. It’s funny because the first thing that comes to mind and I giggled at its thought is… wedding. This year must be a good year to get married! I don’t know anyone yet (cough, cough) but I am sure plenty are going to decide to tie the knot this year. Yeah, lovebirds, go for it!
I must be a hopeless romantic having that first thought (sigh). What about thinking it as having successful partnerships? Generally speaking, we could take it as going through or making decisions perhaps, by twos is when you achieve totality and wholeness! Not necessarily two people but as long as it’s more than one! We all know how God thought that it is not good for a man to be alone. (Yes, I’m going back to that thought again. sigh sigh). Maybe, just maybe, we have been thinking of starting up a business, or going back on working out or running, or going back to school, or maybe you’ve been single for a while and it’s about time to go back on dating (yes, I have to put that in). Whatever it is, we need another human being to push us through, to believe in us, and walk with us. It will be very hard to progress without one but a little bit easier to move forward with someone.
Another thought too is, twenty consists of two tens! When we teach toddlers to count, we usually stop at ten. It’s true for me, simply because, going beyond is too lengthy and deep. It is just too far, don’t you think? If it is, twenty could mean a complete or perfect waiting period! Is there anything that you have been longing to have or experience in your life? Could this be the year it will be realized?
Biblically, Jacob waited twenty years to get possession of his property and be freed from the control of Laban, his father-in-law (Genesis 31:38-41). For twenty years, the children of Israel waited to be freed of Jabin, king of Canaan, who oppressed them (Judges 4-5). Israel had to wait at least twenty years before the Ark would be moved again (1 Samuel 5-7). Solomon spent seven years building the house of God in Jerusalem and another 13 building his own home for a total number of 20 years. After he had completed both buildings, Solomon gave Hiram, the king of Tyre, twenty cities in the land of Galiliee (1 Kings 9:10-11). God promised Abraham that if he found only twenty righteous people in Sodom and Gomorrah, He would not destroy both cities (Genesis 18:31).
This twenty-twenty, I hope and pray for double happiness and double blessings to come your way. Seriously. And as twenty-twenty stands for perfect eyesight, I pray for clearer vision of how or what you want to happen in your life as well.
Lastly, I want to share one of the Catholic church readings I always look forward to every January first and I hope you carry it althroughout the year:
“The Lord bless you and keep you. The Lord let his face shine upon you, and be gracious to you! The Lord look upon you kindly and give you peace!” – Numbers 6:24-26
Claim it, y’all! 😉
P. S. The teens in the photo are my friends’ kids. They’re awesome, aren’t they?
